On August 25, at an event in China, a new device was spotted, in the form of a prototype tablet, capable to displaying 3D images without even needing 3D
glasses!
According to Engadget China, the Supernova X1 was presented by Rockchip, a Chinese hardware manufacturer.
Currently there is no information on the technical specs, on the
exact pricing or even the release date of this new device.
A title was converted to some format that remains a mystery at this time, then the tablet was shown playing “Toy Story” in
3D.
It is unknown how it does that, but it is known that the Supernova X1 can
also play standard 2D content.
We should know more in a week time, at IFA.
Rockchip is known for making media players processors, and usually doesn't make those players itself.
